Born and raised in Beijing, China, Song earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, supported by the highly competitive Commonwealth Endeavour Research Postgraduate Scholarship (ERPS) — a full fellowship awarded by the Australian Government to outstanding international scholars.
She began her career in 1999 at Flinders University, during a defining era for Australian higher education’s global expansion. Her early experience building partnerships and supporting international enrollment laid the groundwork for a career defined by strategic vision and global collaboration.
After moving to the United States in 2011, Song led international recruitment and admissions at South Dakota State University before joining the University of Delaware in 2015 as Director of International Admissions. Over her decade at Delaware, she played a transformative role in shaping institutional policy, developing sustainable recruitment networks, and advancing an ethical, data-informed approach to global engagement.
Since August 2025, Song has served as Executive Director of International Admissions at Drexel University, leading the University’s worldwide recruitment and admissions strategy under the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).
Having lived and worked across China, Australia, and the United States, Song brings nearly three decades of international leadership and a deeply global perspective to her work.
