Paloma Rodriguez is Director of Office of Global Learning at the University of Florida International Center, where she leads the COIL/Virtual Exchange initiative and other faculty and staff professional development programs to support curriculum internationalization. She provided leadership for the University of Florida Quality Enhancement Plan for Internationalization (2014-2019) which contributed to obtaining the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization in 2018. In 2024 her office was awarded the Association of American Public Land Grant Universities (APLU) Internationalization Impact Award for Global Teaching and Learning. Her research interests include curriculum internationalization, COIL/virtual exchange, staff internationalization, eportfolio pedagogy, career integration, and the development of on-campus opportunities to promote global learning. Her publications and presentations explore the use of eportfolio pedagogy in international programming, the role of global certificate programs for the advancement of comprehensive internationalization and COIL for Staff. She is a contributing author to the AAC&U publication "Field Guide to ePortfolio" and to Raby & Valeau’s 2016 volume "Internationalization at Community College: Themes, Practices and Case Studies." She has also written for NAFSA's Trends and Insights. She has served in the organizing committee of the AAC&U Global Learning conference and was also Chair of the NAFSA Community College MIG. Prior to her involvement in International Education, Paloma spent 20 years working as a Humanities and language instructor in Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She holds a PhD in Classical Civilization from the University of Florida and an M.A. in Classics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from the University of South Florida.
