Team Lead Study Abroad and Manager Exchange Programs

Lukas Dausend currently serves as team lead of study abroad at the University of Mannheim, Germany's leading institution in business and social sciences. In his role, Lukas leads a dedicated team of seven professionals who manage the university’s extensive network of more than 450 exchange partnerships worldwide and support over 1,000 outbound exchange students annually. Apart from managing his team, Lukas’s main tasks include agreement negotiations and program development. His work focuses on building sustainable international partnerships and ensuring high-quality exchange opportunities for students. Lukas also serves as coordinator of the Baden-Württemberg/University of North Carolina System Exchange Program, a multilateral partnership funded and supported by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Arts. With more than 15 years of professional experience in international education, Lukas has held various managing positions and cultivated a vast global network with other international education professionals around the world.
Lukas earned his M.A. in American Studies and English Linguistics at Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, and studied abroad at California State University Chico, a life-changing experience. In 2023 he participated in the Fulbright Seminar for German Administrators in International Education at the University of Kentucky, and he was recently elected as mentoring chair for the German Fulbright Alumni Association. Lukas deeply believes in the transformative power of studying abroad and is committed to shape this field with like-minded peers.
